Peter E. Marcia
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Marcia assumed an active role in the management of YouDecide in mid-2006 after two years as an investment partner. Prior to his involvement with YouDecide he was Vice President and National Director of Employee Benefits for Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs, the world's 10th ranking broker, where he led the company's strategic business unit. Previously, he led the employee benefits practices of Hobbs Group, LLC, in Atlanta and O'Neill, Finnegan & Jordan of Boston.
Active in numerous professional organizations, Mr. Marcia is a past member of the National Business Group on Health, New England Employee Benefits Council, the CIAB Board of Directors of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, Wellness Councils of America and the Society of Human Resource Management.
Mr. Marcia earned a Bachelor's degree from Babson College with a major in Entrepreneurial Studies and a minor in Economics.
Richard L. Baker
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Baker has been the CFO of YouDecide.com since 2004. He has more than 30 years of experience in consumer products and management, having worked in sales management and new business development for market leaders such as Gillette, United Brands and Pepsi.
In 1981 he was a co-founder of Great Bay Timber Co., which sold timber and lumber products to Taiwan, Japan and Singapore. After that company was sold in 1985, he became a principal and owner of One Pie Canning Co., a regional food company. He has also participated in financing a number of start-ups in the food, customer relationship management and real estate areas.
A veteran of the Navy (1969-71), Mr. Baker is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
Mr. Baker serves on the boards of The Dyslexia Foundation and Yes Read America.
John Mark Young
Vice President, Technology
Mr. Young called on his extensive background in the insurance and financial services industry when he was tapped to play an instrumental role in establishing the YouDecide IT department in 1997.
Prior to joining YouDecide, Mr. Young was associated for more than nine years with Equifax Insurance Services where he developed many insurance and finance-related products and services, including "Life 2000," the first rules-based requirement-ordering engine for the life and health marketplace. In addition, he spent several years with Policy Management Systems writing property and casualty comparative rating systems.
Mr. Young holds a B.S. in Computer Science from West Virginia Institute of Technology.
Jim Boyd
Vice President, Business Strategy
Mr. Boyd joined YouDecide in the summer of 2007. He has over twenty years experience in the employee benefits field with roles in health and welfare consulting and financial analysis/underwriting.
Mr. Boyd began his career as an underwriter for a national health, life and disability insurer in 1987. He has held positions with national brokerage/consulting companies relating to national practice development and strategy, client management, and consulting on a broad array of health and welfare benefit plans. Most recently, Mr. Boyd served as a Principal in the Boston office of one of the world's largest human resource consulting firms, providing advice to large clients on benefits strategy.
Mr. Boyd holds a BA from Middlebury College and received the designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) in 1992. In 2007, Mr. Boyd was named a Power Broker by Risk & Insurance in the field of Benefits Consulting. He is a member of the New England Employee Benefits Counsel (NEEBC) and is licensed as a life and health insurance broker in numerous states.
Kyle Fabrizio
Vice President, Client Relations
Ms. Fabrizio is responsible for the overall strategic direction and satisfaction of client relationships. She works with the Operations and Technology groups to facilitate superior delivery of unique client requirements and serves as a first path of escalation for client issue resolution.
Ms. Fabrizio has more than 10 years experience in the Employee Benefits and Technology Industry. Prior to joining YouDecide, she was Vice President, National Employee Benefits at Hilb, Rogal, and Hobbs in Boston, MA. As a member of the National Employee Benefits Team, she provided professional resources, tools, and technology to HRH's 50+ Employee Benefits offices throughout the United States.
Prior to HRH, Ms. Fabrizio managed the solution consulting and implementation services teams at HighRoads, Inc. (formerly IE-Engine), a technology company in Woburn, MA which assists Fortune 500 companies in managing employee benefits procurement, administration, and communication. She also spent several years as a Consulting Analyst in the Health Care and Group Benefits practice at William M. Mercer in Boston.
Ms. Fabrizio is a graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, trained as a Green Belt in Six Sigma Process Improvement Methodology, a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and a former member of the New England Employee Benefits Council and the National Business Group on Health.
Walter Smith
Corporate Advisor/Legal Counsel
Mr. Smith joined YouDecide in 2009 after over 20 years at Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company, which he joined in 1988 as General Counsel. Prior to joining Hilb Rogal & Hobbs, Mr. Smith was an associate attorney at Williams Mullen in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Smith's duties at Hilb Rogal & Hobbs included acquisitions, compliance, licensing, corporate secretary and corporate governance, litigation management, securities law for public companies (proxy, reporting, stock plan administration and reporting), and strategic planning.
Mr. Smith earned his BA, JD and MBA degrees from the University of Virginia.
